Liquid Evening

It’s a clockwise boogie,
That slow apex stumble
never-ending pull of
Heart-string resonance
That chainsaws lust
From a bottomless bottom
And gets us asteroid twirling
Into black matter madness
As we drink rain, spit fire
And find excuses to continue
On this twisted carousel
Of mistaken madness.
Lets just hope it slows down
…Or speeds up
So I’m not as dizzy
Next time we meet.

 I'd stare through salt-blind eyes
at a remote fragile sea.   I'd roar.
I'd make the skeleton of grief.
I'd roar like you, unreconciled sea.

The Long and Lucid Night

the internet rumbles
of a downtown menace
as entire cities are slurped up
in an elsewhere storm

and I want nothing

but to smoke cigarettes
into the night
and scribble my lines
down the length of your legs

No longer speaking
Listening with the whole body
And with every drop of blood
Overtaken by silence

But this same silence is become speech
With the speed of darkness.
–Muriel Rukeyser

I compost, uncaptured.
Porous sunshine sulk.
The world keeps wakening
Elsewhere.
And out there
there must be someone
who cares
